Icosagen is an independent European mammalian protein drug discovery, development, and manufacturing expert, with uniquely combined CRO and CDMO capabilities under one roof. We offer fully integrated CRDMO services from target discovery to GMP production up to 1000L scale.
In 2024 we worked together with over 100 pharmaceutical companies, completing over 500 projects successfully.

Antibody discovery

Our highly experienced antibody discovery experts will choose most suitable technology approaches and carefully devise individual selection and screening strategies to identify specific, high-affinity antibody binders for the specific application. Be it biopharmaceutical drug discovery campaigns, diagnostic or R&D purposes, Icosagen’s scientists routinely navigate through the entire antibody development process.

Antibody development

Icosagen helps its customers to focus on the pre-clinical research of therapeutic antibodies and other biologics by supplying high quality protein and antibody candidates in a timely manner. After discovering the antibody, there are options for humanization, afucosylation and affinity maturation to name some.

Antibody-drug conjugates

We conjugate proteins, mainly antibodies, with drugs, peptides, dyes, or oligonucleotides to create antibody-drug conjugates or other protein conjugates.

Protein production

Our patented CHO-based QMCF Technology in serum-free conditions allows our expert team to efficiently express and purify recombinant proteins, native proteins, and complex antibody formats. Icosagen provides a service for the fast development of CHO-based cell pools and pseudotyped virus-like particles (VLPs) that express membrane proteins (i.e. ion-channels, and receptors).

Cell line development

Our well-established operating procedures combined with our efficient CHO-based expression system guarantees the fast delivery of high-quality recombinant antibodies together with a detailed QC analysis and report.

Protein analytics

Analytics play a key role in protein production in order to obtain functional proteins with high purity. Icosagen has a dedicated department of analytics to ensure the best quality of our proteins – both antibodies and antigens. For customized solutions we have a comprehensive list of analytical options available to cover all the needs for proteomic characterization.

Process development & GMP Manufacturing

Our co-located cell line development, process development and GMP manufacturing teams facilitate early design for manufacturability and minimize technology transfer risks. This accelerates your molecule through the CMC journey.

Cell based assays

Our team of scientists, dedicated to cell-based activity assays, has a range of assays already established and can adapt existing ones to novel targets, or, if needed, can even design and implement novel activity assays to assess the protein’s functionality. For this, a library of reporter cell lines as a basis for individual cell-based has been already established.

Food microbiology testing

Icosagen’s microbiology laboratory is specialized in the molecular and microbiological analysis of food. Our main service is the provision of molecular and microbiological testing services for food, feed and environmental samples (food hygiene tests, air analysis). We also offer a sample collection service for food products, hygiene tests (swabs and sponges) and drinking water; prepare and sell bacterial growth media required for testing and, if necessary, provide professional advice.
