The new business name of Quattromed Group is Icosagen Group
On 02 March 2009, the
new business names of AS Quattromed and OÜ Quattromed Cell Factory were
registered. The new business name of Quattromed
AS is Icosagen AS, and
the new business name of subsidiary Quattromed Cell Factory OÜ is Icosagen
Cell Factory OÜ.
As of 01 November 2008, the activities
of the Icosagen Group have been managed by Board Member of the Management Mart
Ustav.
About the company
The Icosagen Group’s activity began
in 1999, with the founding of medical molecular diagnostic company Quattromed AS.
Two years later, the development of technologies and products based on molecular
and cellular biology began. During the period 2001-2005, development work was
directed towards the creation, development and sales of protein tagging and protein
expression systems (E2Tag epitope tagging technology). In 2005, the
company was restructured. On the basis of the medical diagnostics department,
the subsidiary Quattromed Laborid OÜ was created (later Quattromed HTI Laborid
OÜ). Subsidiary Quattromed Cell Factory OÜ was formed based on a science and
development laboratory, and the technology development project for the elaboration
of production technology (QMCF technology) for biological therapeutics was
launched. Within the parent company there were significant improvements made to
the existing antibody product portfolio, the natural rubber allergen detection
technology FITkit® was acquired and a testing and reagent production
laboratory for natural rubber allergens was also launched.
In October 2008, the medical
diagnostic branch of the company, along with the Quattromed trade mark, was
sold to new owners, who will continue with operating commercially in the field
of medical diagnostics.
Currently, the Icosagen Group’s activities
include the development, production and sale of biochemical, immunoassay,
molecular and cellular biology products and services. The company’s activity is
primarily directed towards external markets. There are three trade marks in the
intellectual property portfolio, several patents and one international standard
based on technology belonging to the Icosagen Group. There are also six patent
application proceedings underway in various states in four patent families. The
company’s management system meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2001 standards.
