Icosagen Cell Factory OÜ and Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of sanofi-aventis Group, signed an agreement pursuant to which a technology licence to Sanofi Pasteur was granted to evaluate the QMCF technology with the option to proceed with a license for research activities.
QMCF technology is a new conceptual method of combining several biological elements to produce proteins for early stage drug development process. The technology gives an advantage compared with existing technologies in crucial aspects, such as timeline, stablility and cost-effectiveness. In addition, it is applicable to development test-systems for drug target screening, large scale protein production, etc. QMCF technology has been developed by Icosagen Cell Factory OÜ. The Technology has been granted by European Patent.

Icosagen Cell Factory OÜ was established in 2005. The company is dedicated to the development of the portfolio of QMCF technology-based applications. The R&D work during 2005-2008 was performed in collaboration with Tartu University and financed by Enterprise Estonia.
